The most common thing I see in the studio is, fear. It often stems from the concern that you won’t be the best version of yourself. Sometimes it goes a little deeper. I know this because I have felt it.
Recently I had the amazing opportunity to be mentored by Peter Hurley, New York’s #1 headshot photographer. A weekend in the studio learning and understanding how to get the best out of people in the studio I got to go up in front of his lens. Even after learning how to position lights, cameras and people all weekend I went back into my usually default position of “not so confident in front of the lens” Lucky for me I had the number 1 photographer at the helm and he pulled out some great expressions.
Mirror neurons are an interesting thing! Confidence beats fear overtime!
What I learned from that it is so important to get out of yourself to show the real you.
