I’m currently working on a new ebook with research into how real images with authentic content about businesses work better than stock photography. If you are using stock images currently I’d love to hear from you.
In 2015 Vince Vaughan and Dave Franco co-starred in a movie called Unfinished Business. In moment of art imitating life they did a montage and photoshopped themselves in to a series of overused cheesy stock images.
It was an hilarious pastiche on a series of stock photos that were being used across countless business and diluting every brand they were associated with.
I think it’s so interesting that the human brain can identify in a split second whether a shot is authentic or not! It’s all about emotion the image creates. As Isaac Lidsky learned “what you see impacts how you feel, and the way you feel can literally change what you see”
Check out his ted talk here. As I listened to it I felt quite devastated imagining what it would be like to have your eyes deteriorate into a kaleidoscope of mismatched interpretations. Then I listened on and his vision without being able to see is truely triumphant!
